Privacy Policy

Your data stays yours.

Last updated July 21, 2026

Bloom is a coffee brewing journal built to keep your data where it belongs: on your device. Bloom has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. This policy explains the small number of cases where any information leaves your phone, and exactly what happens to it.

What stays on your device

All of your brewing data — brew logs, ratings, tasting notes, beans, recipes, grinder settings, equipment, and preferences — is stored locally on your device in an embedded SQLite database. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. Bloom is fully functional offline.

What touches the network

1. Catalog updates (anonymous). When online, Bloom periodically downloads an updated catalog of coffee roasters and beans from our server (bloom-catalog.n-taylor-thompson.workers.dev) so autocomplete stays current. This is a one-way, read-only download. No personal information, identifiers, or usage data are sent with the request. If you are offline, the app simply uses its built-in catalog.

2. Feedback you choose to send. If you use the optional "Send Feedback" form in Settings, the text you write is transmitted to our server, stored so we can act on it, and forwarded to us by email using Resend (a third-party email delivery service, acting as a data processor). Feedback is not linked to any account or identity — Bloom has none. Please don't include personal information in feedback text you wouldn't want us to receive.

3. Theme fonts. One optional visual theme ("Lunar Brew") loads its display fonts from Google Fonts when active. Standard web requests of this kind expose your IP address to the font server; no other information is shared, and Bloom sends nothing else to Google.

Like any internet service, our servers (hosted on Cloudflare) may briefly process your IP address to deliver responses. We do not log, store, or use IP addresses to identify anyone.

What we never collect

Data deletion

Uninstalling Bloom permanently deletes all app data — there is no cloud copy. If you have sent feedback and would like it deleted, email us and we will remove it.

Children's privacy

Bloom does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app contains no objectionable content and is rated 4+.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
